The Port Washington Garden Club's annual Garden Walk will be held on Saturday, July 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year's all new "Circle Tour" will feature six gardens on quiet cul-de-sacs on Port Washington's southwest side.
Garden Walk tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the “Pebble House” Visitor’s Center at 126 E. Grand Ave. in downtown Port Washington or at any of the gardens on the day of the Walk. Garden #1: |

The Binsfield garden has evolved over the last 38 years. It started with 3 lowly fern plants, and has grown to include not only enough to fill their yard, but also a neighbor’s. The Binsfield property borders a wooded park which provides privacy, shade, and of course deer. In spite of the challenges, they have created a yard filled with color and creatively potted plants such as Judy’s “impatients trees”

Garden #2: |

What at first glance may look like an unassuming ranch home on an average size lot, becomes a real jewel upon closer inspection. Nancy and Daniel have landscaped their yard to perfection with their many themed perennial beds. There is a vibrant butterfly garden, a shady Tamarack garden, and even a small pond complete with a resident frog.

Garden #3: |

The Pannemanns are one of three neighbors on this court who have come together as neighbors to create a unified landscape between their yards. Built in a newer subdivision on Port’s west side, their yards share the only wooded area left intact prior to construction of the neighborhood. These neighbors have carved a network of joined wooded trails behind their homes, creating the feel of being very far away from the middle of the suburbs. The Pannemans have a beautiful front yard as well, with mature trees and a rock wall.

Garden #4: |

Norm & Linda have landscaped their front yard to perfectly complement the woods beyond. A rock lined sunken garden in front adds interest without taking away from the natural appeal of these yards. Wildflowers have been planted at various spots along the wooded paths in back, and there is an impressive vegetable garden beyond the trees.

Garden #5: |

The Dybdahls' front yard is the sunniest of the three neighbors, and they use it to its fullest potential. Colorful annuals as well as perennials fill this yard with color, while the woods in back provide cool shade. The Dybdahls share a sunny front bed with the Speerbrecher’s between their two yards.

Garden #6: |

This yard also on beautiful Brian Ct., enjoys both woods and open sunny lawn. A beautiful rock wall with perennials planted in and around leads visitors around the side of the home to a deck and gazebo with sweeping views of the neighborhood beyond.
